Cultural landmark of the new era

“You know, there are dozens of bends in the Yellow River...” Stepping into the promenade of the Shaanxi Yellow River Culture Museum, China. With 5,464 mechanical modules, “The Water of the Yellow River” art matrix swells with the melody of “Yellow River Boatman’s Music”, metal modules outline nine curves of the yellow river surging like a wave.

As the first comprehensive museum on the theme of Yellow River culture in Shaanxi Province, the museum has a total floor area of about 16780 square meters and an exhibition area of 11660 square meters. The four-story building contains the symphony of history, technology and art.

In this museum, the mechanical matrix is the largest modern mechanical matrix art installation in the country. The visual hydrology sandbox allows visitors to visually understand the development and evolution of natural hydrology in the Yellow River Basin by simply moving their fingers. The 80-meter-long “Yellow Qu Yellow River Love” is a long volume of “Yellow Qu Yellow River Love”, which meticulously presents cultural heritage along Huang Jiu Province.

Less than two years after opening, this new cultural landmark has received several honors: on May 18, 2024, the basic exhibition "Changhe Wanguli" won the "National Museum Top 10 Exhibition Boutique Promotion" award; in the first quarter of 2025 it ranked among the top 20 museums in thematic categories, occupying important positions in the field of Wenbo.

In terms of social education, the Shaanxi Yellow River Culture Museum has set up "Eastern Red and Yellow River Cultural Studies Practical Education Center", which allows students to analyze the water composition of the Yellow River through micro-devices.

This cultural complex is a collection of cultural relics, science and technology display, research and education. It is like the mechanical matrix in the oriental hall, which rushes forward on the river channel of the new era, stirring the eternal echoes of civilization heritage.
