On the morning of September 18, on the fifth anniversary of the implementation of a major national strategy for ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin, jointly hosted by Chang'an University and the Institute of Geoenvironmental Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was held in Xi'an, Shaanxi. More than 500 experts and scholars from related fields attended this forum.

In the opening remarks of Changan University President Sha Aimin pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping has made important deployments to promote the conservation and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin at a higher starting point. In recent years, Changan University actively responded to the national strategy for ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin.

Mr. Anzhisheng said that in the context of global climate change and large-scale human engineering activities, the Huangpu Plateau water conflict is highlighted, water loss is facing increased risk, affecting the stability and persistence of ecological barrier function of the Huangpu Plateau; coupled with the rapid development of energy economy, sustainable development issues are very prominent, limiting the realization of national strategic goals for ecological protection and high quality development.

The forum aims to focus on "harmonious yellow river, ecological yellow river, cultural yellow river, green yellow river, climate yellow river, livable yellow river", basin geological landscape evolution, ecological barrier structure and function, water resources and water environment, disaster and yellow river, sand change law and regulation, human activities and environmental effects, high quality development and human coordination, Yellow River culture and Huaxia civilization.

The Yellow River is the mother river of the Chinese nation and a vibrant artery on the land of China. Through this forum, we hope to gather industry wisdom from the academic community to explore new paths, new models and initiatives for ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin.
