Li Youyuan’s former residence is located in Zhangjiazhuang Village, 3.5 kilometers north of Jiaxian town. It is a typical Shaanxi stone kiln cave courtyard. Pushing open the wooden door of the typical Shaanxi Courtyard, the scenery is restored: kerosene lamp, three string harp, yellow manuscript copy of Oriental Red, as if to draw time back to the cold winter of 1942.

The students listened to the story of how he grew from a poor peasant to a “people’s singer.” Looking at an old object displayed in the cave, and listening to that history, students felt deeply about Li’s deep feelings for Chairman Mao, Communist Party, and more deeply understood the spiritual power of the song “Eastern Red”.

Led by an interpreter, they participated in the “Remembrance of the Xianxian Yellow River Story Club” under the leadership of the lecturers. The students listened with relish and marveled at it from time to time. During their interaction with the lecturers, they recognized that the Yellow River culture is a source of excellent literary creation.
