Jiuqu Yellow River, rushing forward, has shaped the self-improving national character of the Chinese nation with its unwavering grandeur. It is an important foundation for the strong cultural confidence of the Chinese nation.

Shaanxi is the core area of cultural breeding, generation and growth of Yellow River. Its historical heritage and rich cultural resources are located at the forefront of the Yellow River Basin provinces.

In recent years, Shaanxi has firmly promoted the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin.

The Yellow River flows through Shaanxi Yulin, Yan'an, Hancheng, Weinan and other places, shaping the wonders of Kekou Falls, Qiankun Bay, Longmen and Qinjin Grand Canyon.

In 2021, the Provincial Cultural and Tourism Office jointly issued the "14th Five-Year Plan" of Culture and Tourism Development in Shaanxi Province, incorporating the construction of the Yellow River cultural tourism corridor into the new pattern of culture and tourism development in the "one nuclear four corridors three zones."

As of now, there are 430 A-level tourist attractions in the Yellow River River Basin of Shaanxi Province, including 11 Grades 5A, 117 Grades 4A, 3A and 302 below.

In August this year, the 2024 performance season of "The Great Chorus of the Yellow River" began with a large-scale red folk scene in Shaanxi's Yellow River Jukou Falls Scenic Area. The show uses China's first giant mechanical art water curtain live theater form to vividly showcase the heroic deeds of the people on both sides of the Yellow River during the war against Japan.

“On the banks of the surging Yellow River, it was shocking to watch the red performance. How can you not let people utter the words ‘ask the earth, who is floating’?” said visitor Liu Xiaojun after watching the show.

The Chronicles of Yellow River Bay, which excavates the culture and tells the story of the revolution, is a modern drama of Qin Cavian Revolution created in Tongguan County. It reflects the tireless efforts and great sacrifices made by the sons and daughters of the Yellow River under the leadership of the party for national independence and people's liberation, singing praises to their excellent qualities of rusticity, keeping faith, persistence and tenacity.

Shaanxi Chuangliu has won several domestic awards: three works, such as "Bowling Love", won the "Five One Project" award by China Xuan Department; drama "Protagonist" won the Wenhua Award; performance singing "Song from the banks of the Yellow River" and "A Cotton Quilt" won the Star Award.

In recent years, Shaanxi organized research on the Yellow River culture, promoting the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin.

From October 27 to 30, 2023, “Memories of the Yellow River” exhibition was held in Yan’an. Hundreds of representative intangible cultural heritages from 8 provinces (districts) along the Yellow River and 12 cities (districts) in Shaanxi were showcased.

In June, around Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, a total of 1,156 promotional activities were held across the province, including 226 offline and 930 online. These activities with distinctive characteristics of Yellow River culture attracted more than 30 million people to participate, showing the beauty of Yellow River culture.

In order to promote creative transformation and innovative development, Shaanxi has identified 75 projects at the national level, 573 projects at the provincial level, 1707 projects at the municipal level and 4357 projects at the county level.

According to the relevant heads of the Provincial Cultural and Tourism Office, the provincial cultural tourism system will continue the historical and cultural roots of the Yellow River, explain the charm of the Yellow River culture connotation, promote the value of the Yellow River culture era, and tell the story of the Yellow River culture as traction.
