Shaanxi Yellow River Culture Museum Collection

Yellow River Culture Museum is the first comprehensive museum in the province to focus on the theme of Yellow River culture. It is also a thematic venue that focuses on the material civilization, spiritual civilization, institutional civilization and ecological civilization of the Yellow River Basin.

Collection Entry Criteria

The Yellow River Basin Qinghai, Gansu, Sichuan, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, Shandong and other relevant cities and counties reflect the historical changes of the Yellow River Basin, social development, life customs, cultural arts, religious beliefs, ecological environment, etc.

Collection selection and identification

Collection selection and appraisal staff are produced from the academic committee, composed of curators, vice-directors, relevant professionals in the museum.

The collection must meet the purpose of the collection, strictly in accordance with the uniform classification standards published by the State. To determine the authenticity, age, whether it has been collected and classified, named and graded.

IV. Collection Registration

The general register of the collection is a national scientific and cultural property, with a dedicated person responsible for management and permanent preservation. Collections are named by age, style or author; feature, ornament or color; shape or use.

The collection is divided into one number, according to the individual number; the components cannot exist independently, according to the whole number (the components can be divided into semi-colon), and also according to one piece, indicating the actual number of its components in the note field for inspection or statistics.

All collections are written directly from units, regions or individuals and indicate “excavation”, “collection”, “acquisition”, “distribute”, “exchange”, “picking”, “donation”, etc.

5. Collection catalogue and record

Shaanxi Yellow River Culture Museum has set up a register of collections. The register reflects basic information about the collection.

Shaanxi Yellow River Culture Museum has been established and compiled. All the collections have been filed by Yulin Municipal Bureau of Cultural Tourism.

Shaanxi Yellow River Culture Museum carries out various work in strict accordance with the system of collection receipt, identification, entry, check-in, cataloging and construction.
